Ingredients:

Organic Chinese oolong tea

Description

We discovered Eastern Beauty, a velvety oolong, while at the tea farm in Yunnan, China. Dark brown leaves indicate a higher-oxidized oolong, with a surprisingly bright aroma. This refreshing note—almost minty, though subtle—rises from the melon-forward flavor. Just as fresh fruit gives minty or spicy impressions, Eastern Beauty conveys that pinpoint spriteliness up top, with a quiet, vanilla–spice note in the foundation.

The texture, though, makes the tea: smooth, balanced, honey-rich… Perfectly satisfying heft, for any fan of darker oolongs or whole-leaf black teas. Subsequent steeps remain medium- to full-bodied, making this oolong an excellent value for avid re-steepers or gong fu aficionados.

If you like discovering new flavors in tea, we can’t say enough good things about this one! We recommend starting at a lower temperature (185 degrees) for 2-3 minutes. Re-steep to your taste, and savor the experience.

While this exquisite oolong comes from the base of Jingmai Mountain in Yunnan, the tea plants come from Taiwan. The leaves are hand-picked to ensure quality and consistency. The Taiwanese family who owns this farm tea expertise shows in Eastern Beauty’s balanced and exquisite flavor profile.

  1. Wasn’t impressed with this tea. It seemed a bit stale and the flavor was very difficult to find. This just didn’t taste fresh, clean, sweet and floral like it should. If you can give brewing tips to make it better, i would love to hear it. I enjoy both Gong Fu Brewing. Grandpa style & Western style brewing.

    • Hi Chefcor, Thank you for trying our tea. Our Eastern Beauty can be a sensitive tea. Play around with the brew times-try steeping for 2 minutes at 185 degrees. Oversteeping can overwhelm the nuance found in more sensitive teas. We think there is a lot of depth with this Chinese oolong, with melon and a tinge of tang. We hope this helps! LMTC
