Lake Missoula Tea Company arrives in China! The Guiyang airport was brand new and contrasted with everything else we saw in the city. Calvin at the Novotel motel graciously adjusted our reservation when we learned I made the reservation for the wrong day. And he provided an upgrade at no charge. Jake and I taxied to the train station and realized that our efforts were in vain without everyone’s passports. We returned with passports in hand and purchased the less expensive seats, not realizing that we would ride to Kunming shoulder to shoulder for 8 hours.
Take note, if you take the train and can afford an upgrade, buy it. The ride provided a great view of the Chinese country side, and was a nice break from the congested cities. Rice paddies, horses, corn and cemeteries, limestone topography, and beautiful homes dotted along the tracks on our ride to Kunming and the heart of puerh tea!
