Description
Darjeeling District Green is a handpicked, artisan tea from the base of the Himalayas. Darjeeling connoisseurs can savor that classic muscatel flavor anew as a green tea. Most Darjeeling estates focus on producing black teas (like our Shanti Hathi), but the intensely fruity and complex aroma shines in this context. The smaller leaf size also conveys a remarkable strength. Steep 2 minutes for a creamy-smooth texture, 3 minutes for a rumbling briskness in the aftertaste. Either way, the clean and dry sweetness of this one-of-a-kind green tea should captivate new and longtime tea lovers alike.
Darjeeling District Green carries the Women in Tea symbol. We proudly partner with Nuxalbari Tea Estate, a woman-owned tea farm—virtually unheard of in India—and we celebrate the work they do. The estate provides animal corridors that allow elephants, tigers, and other animals to move through the estate without harm. Women and men are equally promoted at this tea estate. Nuxalbari also runs an educational curriculum, teaching environmental stewardship to the children of the estate’s 1,000 employees. Good things are happening on the ground, all the way to your cup! Enjoy a cup of Darjeeling District Green, and join us in celebrating this remarkable farm.
Lake Missoula Tea Company commits to direct-sourcing teas and botanicals from sustainable farms. First we choose organic ingredients, and then we create our blends in small batches. In short, we love to drink this stuff, and we’re proud to share with you the tastiest, freshest tea possible. Store away from light and oxygen, and your teas will keep for a good long time.
