White Tea

White Tea

Generally, white tea consists of tea leaf and buds and contains little caffeine. The methods used for cultivation include sun drying the plant or allowing it to wither, causing slight oxidation. Heat is then applied to stop the oxidation. The buds found in white tea provide a delicate, yet complex flavor. The liquor ranges from a pale yellow to a lighter coppery color.

About White Tea

White teas are lightly oxidized and generally contain less caffeine than other tea types. Tea leaves may be broken, twisted, or rolled to enhance flavor. Broken leaf tea is typically more potent than its rolled or twisted counterparts, due to the exposure of the entire leaf while steeping. Twisted or rolled teas have varying degrees of sweetness and nuanced flavors.
