Ingredients:

Organic Nepalese black tea

Description

Panda Ruby Red is an organic Nepalese tea, grown at the base of the Himalayas. The nuance in this tea builds the longer you sip it. The aroma gives a dark, sweet impression, both fruity and malty, not unlike dark chocolate. But then the first sip will surprise you—lighter in body than you might have guessed. The cup tastes clean, with a transparent profile, allowing a wide range of flavor notes to come through, one after another. There’s a nice, chewy center, with a maple–sweetness that hits the back of the throat. Along the top end, you’ll notice several fruity, spicy, almost smoky notes. When you re-steep the tea leaves, it tastes lighter, brighter, with all these flavors coming through more distinctly. This tea is worth spending time with.

We directly source this single origin black tea through the Red Panda Network in Nepal. Red pandas, like many endangered animals, have been driven near to extinction due to poaching and deforestation. We’re proud to carry this tea, and to support the Network’s important mission of restoring red panda habitat, while also building a sustainable economy on the ground.

Purchase of Panda Ruby Red directly supports the Red Panda Network in Nepal. Think of these contributions as you spend time with this tea.

Lake Missoula Tea Company commits to direct-sourcing teas and botanicals from sustainable farms. First we choose organic ingredients, and then we create our blends in small batches. In short, we love to drink this stuff, and we’re proud to share with you the tastiest, freshest tea possible. Store away from light and oxygen, and your teas will keep for a good long time.

  1. I have been desperately searching for a replacement for Teavana’s Indonesian Gold since the company closed. It was my favorite for many years. This tea from Lake Missoula is a very close match for that flavor profile. Full bodied with virtually no astringency. Well-balanced with sweet notes. Goes beautifully with rock sugar. This tea has a very similar flavor profile to Mammoth Red but comes at a more affordable price point.

  2. I was the Sunflower Barkery in Helena and needed to top off my mug for the drive to Missoula so on impulse I selected Panda Ruby Red, I am so glad I did! The tasted lingered on my tongue and I regretted not ordering the large. When I arrived in Missoula and headed for the Good Food Store where I picked up a small packet of loose leaf. I have been enjoying a pot every morning and have started subscribing so I won’t be without my new favorite brew. If you like a brisk tea with a delicate sweetness without sugar this is the tea for you.

    • Thank you for the 5 stars evealisonnyren! Yes, we purchase this tea directly from the Red Panda Network of Nepal, who takes a portion of the sale to fund their work on the ground. Thank you again, LMTC
