Description

Chunmee Green makes a perfect introduction to green tea, and a reliable cup for everyday. The flavor hunkers down on a solid note, sweeter and heftier than most green teas. If you avoid greens because they taste “grassy” or “weak”, Chunmee may change your mind with its earthy, uncomplicated, umami goodness. The first steep offers a lightly astringent aftertaste, which then fades in subsequent steeps—so the second cup tastes smoother than the first. Roasted overtones hang subtly around the edges, adding aromatic interest that lingers after each sip.

Most green teas prefer steeping at 170°F to minimize bitterness. However, Chunmee is more versatile, and still tastes delicious at a hotter temperature. We recommend 185°F to bring out the hearty and sweet notes that we enjoy.

Chunmee Green makes friends quietly, steadily, without a lot of fuss and feathers. When you need a good, no-nonsense, reliable green tea, it’s here for you.

  1. I’m a big fan of flavor, and don’t want my tea to just taste like hot water. I definitely appreciate the subtler tastes of a good green tea, but there’s got to be some there there. Chunmee green is great for this. I’ll steep twice from the same leaves and still be satisfied with the second cup. (I’m also excited about the unique health benefits of green tea, but that’s a separate story.) On heavy tea days, I find it can literally make me euphoric — enough that other people notice. Your mileage may vary on this last point. But if you’re looking for a really delicious green tea, check this one out.

  2. My favorite green tea! The first brew is great but the second is fantastic. It is smooth with just a hint of sweetness.
