Description
Butterscotch Kuchen transforms a rich black tea into a decadent treat. The cup tastes full-bodied and very smooth, with a persistent, honey-like sweetness in the foundation. Caramel aroma moves playfully, emphasizing the rich tea flavor. If you prefer simple, hearty sweets, then this blend is for you!
Wake up with Butterscotch Kuchen, and set a sweet tone for the day. The base tea (from our Nepali tea partner) has a lot of good flavor, and steeps easily without bitterness. Steep this blend multiple times, or try a longer steep—however it suits your tastes. And a tasting tip, the more this tea cools, the stronger the butterscotch!
Kuchen is the German word for cake, which dessert comes in many regional variations and flavors. In the US, you might find kuchen in a Midwestern or Montana kitchen, in communities where German immigrants settled.
A made in Montana tea.

Thank you for the sample I received. I love that this tea can be steeped rich and dark without acidity. The flavoring is subtler than the name implies. It also has a faint smokiness. The fact that its base tea is from a tea farm that helps safeguard the endangered red panda is also a plus! I am reordering this and also the panda tea that forms its base.
Received a sample and loved it. The Nepali black tea is beautifully rich and full without bitterness, and the flavoring not overpowering. Plus the tea producer benefits red pandas–they are adorable!
I think the Nepali Black Tea is what made this so distinctive to me, even more so than the flavor. The flavor is strong – very rich, buttery and sweet, but the shiny black coils of tea leaves were stunning!
Thank you for the review, Ninibi! The Nepalese tea really carries this blend, with a sprinkle of butterscotch on the top ; ) LMTC
