Harvest Moon Pumpkin Spice Chai rises from the pumpkin patch when frost creeps in and the leaves start turning color. We add a pinch of this, a dash of that, to our signature blend of black teas. The result? A smooth chai, not too spicy, but with loads of flavor. The cup leads with the aroma of sweet molasses, with its subtly smoky tang. Then we mix in dried apples, whose tartness conveys the bright, fresh-from-the-garden flavor of ripe pumpkin. Then come the spices. Oh the spices! Cinnamon and allspice lead the way, with a healthy pinch of nutmeg. Ginger and clove sneak in there too. Autumn means colder days ahead, so enjoy those warming spices and hunker down for the season.
We blend Harvest Moon Pumpkin Spice Chai in late summer, and when it's gone, it's gone. Try it—and if you love it, then stock up! We think it makes a perfectly sweet treat, with no sweetener, and no need to add any. However, if you drop in our Missoula tea shop during harvest season, we'll gladly whip up a Harvest Moon Fog for you. A sweet treat turns decadent with a bit of cream and honey.
