About this tea

Mammoth Red is a favorite tea among many. Dark chocolate and caramel flavors up front, with a full malty finish and simply zero astringency. Let this rolled leaf style black tea unfold to reveal layers of flavor.

Mammoth Red is an organic black tea that grows high up in the steep mountains of southern Java, Indonesia. This single origin tea is grown on a small scale, artisan tea farm, and is one of two organic tea farms in Java, Indonesia. The tea is hand-picked and processed on site by locals from the nearby village. The tea farm is adjacent to the Mount Halimun Salak National Park.

We can't say enough good things about this tea. The flavor is consistent and unbelievably good. Perhaps this is why it was the silver medal winner of the Global Tea Championship in Boulder, Colorado! One of our most popular single origin black teas.

    I have been desperately searching for a replacement for Teavana’s Indonesian Gold since the company closed. It was my favorite for many years. This tea from Lake Missoula is by far the best match for that flavor profile. Full bodied with virtually no astringency. Well-balanced with sweet notes. Goes beautifully with rock sugar. In my tea tasting journal, I simply wrote “YES!!!” This is my new favorite tea.

    This tea is amazing! My husband and I purchased some last year when we were on vacation in Montana and Idaho and I just used up my last of it. I need to order more! Thank you for having this wonderful organic black tea in your collection.
