Rugger's Rooibos (pronounced "Roy-boss", aka "red tea") is one of our favorite botanicals. Rooibos is one of the most antioxidant-rich beverages in the world, and the cup has a sweet, vanilla-tinged flavor. The liquor brews up dark red, with a deep, rich body. An earthy and deeply calming tea experience.
Rooibos is endemic to western South Africa. Just north of Cape Town is the region of Cederberg, where you’ll find rooibos growing wild in the mountains.
If you find yourself in Cape Town, you might stumble upon a Springboks rugby match. The Springboks were the 2019 Rugby World Cup champions, defeating England 32-12 in Japan! You’ll have plenty of opportunity to drink a cup of "red tea". You might even find yourself perched on top of Table Mountain, the Southern Ocean in view, soaking in the sights of the city with a cup of rooibos in hand.
