Because Pu'erh is so unique---you may love it, hate it, or fall somewhere between---and this sampler will help you make quick assessment of your taste. Just be sure to try them all before you make a final decision; even within the Pu'erh category, there is SO much variety between raw (sheng), ripe (shou), age, region, picking year and season, and the age of the tree!
About this tea
Puerh Sampler lets you dip your toe into the realm of puerh teas. These teas have a musty, earthy aroma along with a smooth, deep flavor.
The sampler comes with 3 puerh teas, and 2 of each one. Puerh tea is in a class of tea from China called dark tea. To be a puerh, the dark tea must come from Yunnan Province in China.
The Sampler includes:
- Sticky Rice Puerh - intensely aromatic, savory
- Bulang - exceptionally smooth
- Golden Brick - bold and velvety
Unlike other tea types, puerh doesn't become bitter or astringent, making it extremely versatile. A traditional preparation would be gongfu style, involving many short steeps. Alternately, another tea-drinker might choose lengthy steeps. In the end, 30 seconds or 30 minutes, all's fair in love and tea-drinking.
