About this tea

GABA Oolong tea offers a rich, roasted, nutty flavor, good for multiple steeps. This toasty oolong stands on its own. The flavor is complex, as multiple layers reveal themselves as you drink this tea.

GABA Oolong can increase the natural levels of Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA) in the body. Under typical conditions, tea is oxidized with oxygen (aerobic), producing glutamic acid in the tea leaves. Processed anaerobically with nitrogen (instead of oxygen), nearly all glutamic acid is replaced with GABA.

A naturally occurring amino acid in your body, GABA aids the central nervous, immune, and endocrine systems. GABA reduces neural excitability throughout the nervous system, and is also directly responsible for the regulation of muscle tone.

This tea is how I found this company. I was searching for a good organic loose leaf gaba oolong tea after reading about the brain health benefits of drinking it. It was the first one I stumbled across and I bought it right away. I've repurchased once already and looking to buy it again! It's a very smooth tea, I was shocked at how much I loved it. I sometimes add a touch of honey but it doesn't need it. I feel mentally clearer after drinking it too. And this company is the only one I buy tea from now. I could never go back to cheap bagged tea.

This is currently my second favorite morning tea (Coconut Oolong still reigns supreme)! I'm not quite sure how one measures teaspoons with these long leaves, but I make my best guess. Love love!
