Chunmee Green makes a reliable everyday cup of tea. The flavor hunkers down on a solid note, sweeter and heftier than most greens. If you avoid greens because they taste "grassy" or "weak", Chunmee may change your mind with its earthy, uncomplicated, umami goodness. The first steep offers a lightly astringent aftertaste, which then fades with subsequent steeps—so the second cup tastes smoother than the first. Roasted overtones hang subtly around the edges, adding aromatic interest that lingers after each sip.
Most green teas prefer steeping at 170°F to minimize bitterness. However, Chunmee is more versatile, and still tastes delicious at a hotter temperature. We recommend 185°F to bring out the hearty and sweet notes that we enjoy.
