Kuki Cha Green
Kuki Cha Green is a Japanese tea that gives a nutty, sweet flavor. The taste is reminisce of roasted corn and toasted nuts. This interesting flavor evokes fragrances of all things roasted and toasted.
Another name for this tea is stem, or twig tea because the stems and stalks of the tea leaf are added to the mix. Stem tea is made from the stems and stalks of higher end teas, like Gyokuro or Sen Cha. Kuki Cha has slightly less caffeine because of the stalks and stems, which little if any caffeine. The stalks and stems are are also the reason why this tea has a sweetness to it. With less leaf, which generally has more astringency, there is then more room for the taste of the sweeter stems and stalks. This green tea is also a good choice to drink in the evening due to less caffeine. However, it is also calming and good for your stomach!
The tea master where this tea is made was recently awarded Top Tea Connoisseur in Japan. This company bypasses the government tea auctions and purchases their tea directly from the farmers. The advantage to this is the tea farmers get a higher price for their tea. In addition, the tea manufacturer knows the tea source. You as the consumer benefit from this process because you get a consistent taste and quality from the tea.
