Description

Black Sesame is our loose leaf tea blend built on contrast. It took us months of R&D to find the right balance—black sesame’s rich, distinctive character means you need the perfect tea base, or it either overwhelms the cup or disappears entirely.

Our breakthrough came when we stopped searching for one exact tea base and started testing combinations. The answer: a Nepalese tea and a lightly smoked Chinese black tea working together.

Our Nepalese tea brings smooth, high-elevation sweetness, while the Chinese tea adds a soft, lingering whisper of smoke. Together, they create the exact foundation the black sesame needs—balanced, layered, and quietly complex.

How to brew: Use 1½ tsp of loose leaf tea per 8oz of water heated to 200-205°F. Steep for 3-4 minutes.

  1. Unique!

I never would have thought to put sesame in a tea. This may not be for everyone, but if you like an unexpected flavor blend and don’t despise the taste of sesame, go for it!

  2. I love LMTC-They are geniuses with tea blends! Unfortunately, I got this in a 6 mo subscription and was disappointed in it. For me, the sesame overwhelms the tea and it’s difficult to get past the nose even (and I love sesame-cook with it regularly). Milk and sugar helped, but for me the sesame flavor just doesn’t go with tea. Hopefully it’s just me not having a refined pallet, but I really can’t recommend this one.
