High Country Huckleberry
Nothing says "Montana" like the tart, juicy, wild taste of huckleberries. From our home to yours!
Tart, Herby, and Fruity
Black
High Country Huckleberry delivers mountain high berry goodness in every sip. Huckleberries taste akin to blueberries, but with a wild, hard-to-pin down quality. Fruitiness sits front and center, without overwhelming the tea. Huckleberry's sweet and tart notes perfectly complement the black teas in this blend: sweet in the front, with a clean, crisp finish.
For those of us lucky enough to roam the Montana woods in late summer, stumbling on a patch of fresh huckleberries always feels like good fortune. So tasty! Bears love them too, so stay alert, and leave some huckleberries for the next hungry visitor.
Enjoy High Country Huckleberry as an early morning wake-up, a midday pick-me-up, or chilled on a hot summer day. Our customers especially love Huckleberry fogs, with cream and honey - that berry note sits perfectly in the mix.
Huckleberries grow in a particular ecosystem of the Pacific Northwest—and it's shrinking. They prefer high elevations, acidic soil, and partial shade: in other words, a Rocky Mountain evergreen forest. Efforts to grow them commercially have failed. Read about the precarious relationship between bears, berries, bees, and humans and our approach to huckleberry's scarcity and our tea.
