Tangerine Puerh is a decadent, premium tea. Peel back the beautiful wrapping paper, and a dried tangerine is presented to you. Take off the top, and you’ll find a puerh tea infusion nestled in the peel. Pull the tangerine apart to scoop the puerh tea out. You’ll need about 2 tsp for one cup. The tea balls vary in size, but each one should brew between 3 and 6 cups.
The puerh and tangerine notes in this cup are simpatico: the flavors move across your palate simultaneously, so that neither one overpowers or outshines the other. A long steep brings out the robust puerh character, while a shorter steep feels remarkably light and delicate. If you like more tang, add a small piece of the peel; it doesn’t take much. While this tea brews well in a tea pot or other brewing device, it is ideal for gong fu brewing.
