We are pleased to offer South Korean tea from a Grand Tea Master!
Although not as well known as Chinese or Japanese teas, South Korean tea holds a uniqueness all its own. What makes the Korean teas we carry truly special is the expertise of one man, Yang Won Seo. Yang Won Seo is the 34th Grand Master of Traditional Korean Foods. He is also the founder and owner of the farm we source our Korean teas from. The South Korean government issues the Grand Master award to individuals that contribute to the preservation of Korean culture and tradition. This is exactly what Yang Won Seo has done for years.
His expert ability to craft traditional Korean teas and herbal blends is unparalleled. With each sip of his tea, you encounter tastes unmatched by other Asian teas. Hydrangea leaf is a featured ingredient in his herbal blends, and adds a viscous mouthfeel and sweet taste. Both the Korean Sweet Green tea and Who Chic botanical blend boast this leaf. Our Who Chic blend is adored by many for its sweetness (again, thanks to the hydrangea) and elegant botanicals, including Korean Persimmon and lotus! We also source organic Mulberry Leaf from Korea. Its wonderful, roasted notes are highly intriguing, and the leaves are rumored to help with blood pressure and diabetes.
If you are seeking an outstanding true tea from Korea, look no further than our limited edition Hwang Cha Amber. (This tea is currently not in stock.) Traditional Korean style is achieved with this exquisite, award winning organic black tea. It is produced with traditional cultural methods, it’s dry and woodsy flavor layered with intricacies. This tea tastes remarkably different than other black teas. Also notable, the farm that produces this tea has won two different national agricultural awards for the Hwang Cha!
Quality and tradition are highly regarded in Korean culture. You can experience both in Korean tea. We highly recommend you try one of our Korean teas (either botanical or true) and taste for yourself!
